Jonas' world is perfect. Everything is under control and safe. There is no war or fear or pain. There are also no choices. But when Jonas turns 12, he is chosen for special training from The Giver—to receive and keep the memories of the community. The Giver is the only person who holds the memories of real pain and real joy. Now Jonas will learn the truth about life—and the hypocrisy of his utopian world.
Just entering week three of rehearsals for Unexpected Stage Company's ROMEO AND JULIET: LOVE KNOWS NO AGE, a fantastic twist on the classice love story! Romeo and Juliet are now septuagenarians and the Montagues and Capulets are their adult children. Set in an adult living community, this contemporary interpretation of a classic tragedy explores what happens when Romeo and Juliet fall passionately in love later in life.
The show runs July 16 - August 9 at the Randolph Road Theatre-- for more info and for tickets, visit www.unexpectedstage.org.
So proud of our fantastic cast and crew-- feeling honored to have had the chance to work with so many talented artists on this marvelous production. Check out the Washington Post's review in full on the Press page.
Gearing up for the impending opening of 'CAROUSEL' at Olney Theatre Center!
After a bank robbery gone wrong, carousel barker Billy Bigelow is given a second chance to make things right for the love-of-his-life Julie Jordan and the child he never got to meet. Featuring some of the form’s best-loved songs: “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” “June Is Bustin’ Out All Over,” and “If I Loved You.” Time Magazine calls this Rodgers and Hammerstein classic tale of love and redemption the “greatest musical of the twentieth century.”
